Hi everyone! My name is Melissa and I'm from Elizabeth, New Jersey. I am a senior in the psychology department and minoring in Latino/a Studies. After graduation, my goal is to go to graduate school so I can work with underserved communities that don't have access to many mental health resources.
On campus, I am a research assistant for the Adversity and Relationships in Context Lab (ARC). I work as a Campus Visit Ambassador for the Admissions Information Center. In terms of clubs/organizations, I am secretary of the Psychology Society, a head fellow for SIFP, a Fields Fellow for Carl A. Fields Center, a core volunteer for SVC: El Centro, and a PLASA (Princeton Latine American Student Association) member. I am more than happy to talk about my experience as a first-generation, lower-income (FGLI) student and a Latina on campus but also just what I like to do for fun. I love going on walks, photography, watching movies, karaoke with friends and baking (I make an amazing flan). If you're interested in our access to service opportunities, research or study abroad, I'd love to share a bit of what I've done so far.
Feel free to reach out to me by email!
