Two weeks ago our sophomores celebrated Declaration Day in their #Princeton2026 sweaters, much different than the symbolic class fashion of 100 years ago! Starting in the 1870s and continuing throughout the early 1900s, rising juniors gallivanted down Nassau Street and through campus in a tradition called The High Hat Parade. Donning top hats and canes, these accessories celebrated their step into upperclassmen-hood. Swipe for photos of the parade throughout the years: 1.
