Hello! My name is Kate Macakanja, and I’m a member of the Class of 2023. I’m in the Astrophysics department at Princeton, and I’m really interested in finding ways to make my study more interdisciplinary; at the moment, I’m doing research on diversity in STEM. On campus, I’m really involved with the Climbing Team (we have an indoor wall and we go on outdoor trips!). I also work at the Writing Center, which is a great resource for everyone at Princeton. I also really like to read, write, hike and be outdoors. I did Bridge Year in Senegal in 2018-19, so please reach out to me with any questions about Bridge Year or gap years in general, as well as anything else that’s on your mind.
